Documentary: Qin Dynasty

This is a nice documentary that tells the story of Qin dynasty.  If you are doing Chinese martial arts, then you may learn to appreciate traditional Chinese martial arts through this video.

Nowadays, many martial artists have the misconception of traditional martial arts are outdated and therefore they need to "evolve" those martial arts by mixing different martial arts together. This video sort of debunks this idea.

  • Watch how their weapons were like and how did they make their swords
  • Watch how sophisticated their idea of warfare was
  • Watch how they applied their intelligence
  • Try to understand their warfare
This video shows a few things:
  • Ancient people's were highly intelligent with how they approach warfare (Do you think that the barbaric fighting methods of contemporary martial arts are more sophisticated and scientific than what ancient fighters were doing?)
  • People in the past probably fought realistically instead of "artificially" to conquer another country. Do you think what they were doing were similar to what those traditional martial arts schools are doing nowadays? Do you think what ancient fighters were doing would be considered as "outdated" now?
Smart Research Wing Chun is a different martial art research group - we research and restore the techniques of ancient martial arts instead of mixing techniques like an MMA guy because we believe that ancient fighters had done lots of experiments to know how to use the human body efficiently to perform the task of self-defense.
