We had shown our videos to some mainstream Wing Chun practitioners previously and received remarks that our performance wasn't as good as their mainstream Wing Chun and they deemed it as a "failed version" of Wing Chun - this post educates the readers why is our version of Wing Chun better than mainstream Wing Chun.

This is the summary:

Smart Research Wing Chun

• The practitioners of Smart Research Wing Chun used Wing Chun techniques for sparring; for instance Pak Sau, Tan Sau, footwork, stance, etc.
• The techniques produced correct effects for striking, diverting and blocking. (physics, etc.)

Mainstream Wing Chun

• There are 2 groups of mainstream Wing Chun practitioners: Group 1) Trying to use mainstream Wing Chun techniques for sparring; Group 2) Trying to spar like a kickboxing/MMA fighter
• Group 1: Those who attempted to use mainstream Wing Chun techniques instead of kickboxing couldn't produce correct scientific effects to make their techniques work (strike, block, divert).
• Group 2: These mainstream Wing Chun resorted to techniques like kickboxers to help themselves "spar more efficiently".
